At user request, we have implemented the ability to block registrations for specific VAT IDs. This solution is designed for organizers providing services to other businesses.
In B2B the principle of freedom of contract applies. This principle states that no one can force a business to cooperate if they are unwilling to do so – in other words, businesses can independently select their contractors.
Before implementing a VAT ID blocking, it is worth verifying whether the organization is not subject to any exemptions under which refusing to provide a service to another company could result in legal issues. Restrictions on the principle of freedom of contract apply to companies that:
- are monopolists in a given market segment
- provide public utility services – the business is legally obligated to conclude a contract and, as a rule, cannot refuse to perform the service to another company without a valid, objective reason
- have agreed orders or signed contracts with other contractors – refusing to perform the service for these entities will be legally ineffective and may be costly
This option is available in the Organization menu, in the Blocked customers section.
